Invasive Animals

You can help to reduce the spread of invasive animals.

Clean Drain Dry your boat and equipment.

Never dump your aquarium contents into any outside water source including rivers, lakes, streams, wetlands, ditches or storm drains.

Be aware when buying pets that some can live to be 50 years old. Don't dump your unwanted pets to fend for themselves.

Educate yourself on what is native and what is invasive in your area.

Fire ants can live in potting soil. Check that your soil is from a clean source before you bring it home.

Burn local firewood to prevent the spread of invasive species such as the emerald ash borer.

Do not move fish from one waterbody to another. It is illegal and it contributes to the spread of invasive species.
